The Poos progress

Mom and I are in Reedsport, Oregon tonight. It's been a rainy drive down I-5 to Eugene, then over here to the Oregon Coast. We spent last night at the Grompe's 'midst the whirl of a weekday evening...Teresa had been on jury duty and arrived home by bus, Heidi had been babysitting and was driven home by the family, Markus arrived by bicycle wet from the rain that had just started just in time for mhis bike commute.

But Teresa had planned ahead and had a lamb stew pre-prepared to jusy warm up for our 52nd anniversary dinner.

I don't know yet how to add pictures to this blog thingy like Bernadette, so I'll send a couple out by E-mail this evening. Dad
hey eveyone, meagan here. i usually send an update to grandma and grandpa (joanne and ted) during the weekend, but this week i forgot and then my dad set up this blog, so here i am. The only things worth mentioning for last week were on friday and saturday. Friday my Biology: Ecology class went to Central Washington University to visit the chimposium and to get a tour of the biology building. First my group went to the biology building and looked at the animals in the lobby and then went upstairs where they had preserved animals and insects, after that we moved on to the greenhouse where there were 4 different rooms with different environments. The tropical room was my favorite, i'd never seen a leaf as big as the banana leaf. My class then moved on to the chimposium. We had a short class then went to observe the chimps before going out for lunch and getting back to school.

The next day was National History Day for the state competition. The bus left at 4:45 a.m. and we got back at 11 p.m. The competition was at a community college in Auburn, Wa. My group recieved first place at regionals, but we didn't place at state. We were scheduled to be judged at 2:20 p.m. so we had some time to kill. We went to the mall from 8-10 and of course everything opened at 10... We explored campus for a while and had lunch before our judging time, then we went out to dinner at 4 at Rock wood fired pizza (greasy, but tastey). We got back to campus 40 minutes late for the awards ceremony, but they hadn't started because they couldn't find a podium. No one from West Valley placed, but there was one of our students who recieved an award for his topic. It was a long day. This year's topic was individuals in history. Next year's topic is Innovations in History, so I have a while to think of something and get another group together... That's about it for me. Well i'm also on color guard for the band and we have a parade the weekend after next, but that's the only other thing i can think of. Thanks for reading.

P.S. i'm going to add pictures when i figure out where i saved them to :-)

Knitting project

This is my first cabbling project, and I just finished today, took about three days steady work. Started from a pattern, but there where mistakes in the pattern, so I had to improvise, and I think that it turned out well. well just thought that I would share.

Bernadette

Great Idea

This looks like a great idea. Is there some sort of tutorial that old (out of date) people like me can look at to learn how to use this facility?

Yakima, Monday evening

Bernadette came in this evening after work at KFC and said that they had a busy night on "free piece of grilled chicken day". She was assigned to wear the chicken suite and dance around on the sidewalk as part of the ad campaign. (a hot task, but a break from the serving counter) A busy day with the store passing out about 1200 pieces of free chicken along with all the other transactions for the day.
